Rebecca entered my life in 1982, she had just moved into a cool apartment in Columbus, OH, getting ready to start grad school. I was a junior in high school and just starting to look at colleges. I was totally overwhelmed on where I wanted to go and what I wanted to major in college, in short she helped relieve the pressure and advised me to to do what made me happy and the rest would follow (something like that). I told her I wanted to serve others. She quickly moved into the top most influential in my life. I recall being in college and would call late nights (rates were cheaper after 11 p.m. and seek calm) I wound up in Public Health and have been serving others my whole life. We both landed in HHS she at NIH and me at HRSA and for a short time our office were across from each other and we would have lunch. I will miss her warm heart and kind smile and genuine laughter. She was my role model, friend and family. God's Speed.

Rebecca was a wonderful, caring person. She often sent me messages of support and encouragement for the various political positions I have espoused on social media. She will be missed.
